Invisible Illness – What is hidden underneath

When you have an invisible disability it’s hard for anyone to truly get what is going on. If you look normal, you must therefore be normal and feel normal.

When “How are you doing?” Becomes a Loaded Question

But when my body feels like it has betrayed me, my illness is the only thing I think about. It is what comes out of my mouth each time I am asked a simple question, “How are you doing? How was your weekend?” It is as if I have spilled a can of worms upon someone’s lunch plate when they were just trying to make small talk. Well next time “Diana” don’t ask me such a loaded question.

Count Back From Ten…

There is something about surgery that changes you. Maybe it’s the trauma maybe it’s the anesthesia. Does it depend on the kind of surgery you have that depends on how you change. Is it a chemical balance? I don’t know all I know is that I was different.
